    Little Johnny, God has predestined the minority of people to be saved and go to heaven forever, and He has predestined the majority of people to be eternally damned and burn in the fires of hell. We have no idea, little Johnny, if God has predestined you to be forever damned or forever saved. We love you, little Johnny, but we accept the fact that God might not love you, and that He may have plans to send you to hell for your future sins. If you do find yourself one day burning in hell because He hasn’t elected to save you, just remember that we will always love you, even if God hates you. Take comfort knowing that we are not like God. We will be in heaven forever only because we were unconditionally chosen for salvation before we were born. That would be the only reason that we won’t be in hell with you if you find yourself there. It won’t be because of anything we did. So also take comfort in knowing that. It may not seem fair, but who are we to judge God? So again, if you find yourself in hell, remember that we will always love you as we forever worship the God who loved us but who hated you, the God who sent His Son to die for us but not for you. Please, we ask, don’t let it bother you-if you find yourself in hell-that we love the God who hated you and showed you no mercy. We must accept the fact that God is sovereign, and He does what He pleases. My dear beloved Calvinist, will you teach that to your children or grandchildren? I suspect that your answer will be “never.” But why not? Why would you ever hide the wonderful “doctrines of grace,” the “Bible truth,” from your own children or grandchildren? TRUTH IN LOVE

    One of the major problems with Arminian Heretics is self righteousness. They hate the God of the Bible who says things like this: Romans 8:28-31 King James Version 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Arminian heretics choke on the Word of God. They hate Him.

    Ok let’s sum it up: “Jesus Christ went on the cross bit his fingers nails and said ‘I hope everyone comes to me’” -i.e.he looked through the corridor of time and wasn’t sure of the difference b/t the sheep or the goats. Hmmm...sounds thoroughly orthodox especially in light of Spurgeon’s theology 🤔 (sarcasm)

    • @sha0071972
      @sha0071972 4 года назад

      There have been millions of pages written on this argument, i understand it this way, Jesus called all men to himself knowing all that the father gave to him would ultimately come....did it matter if he knew them already? i don't think so. like Spurgeon said "I would preach to only the elect but unless they had elect printed on their t-shirts how would I know who the elect where, so he preached to everyone. my only difficulty is when Jesus says it is his wish that none would perish, that is hard to argue. but ultimately reformed theology is miles ahead in understanding the gospel. i don't have to fully understand all the mysteries of the Godhead to say that. did God ask anyone's opinion or plead with them at any stage to do his will, Who are you "man" to talk back to God..

    @17:12 If a buzzard flies over a field of grain does that deny the existence of the field of grain? I might be wrong but I would hazzard to say that the buzzard even if someone captured the buzzard put it in a cage with some water & force fed it the grain it still would die because it has no way of metabolizing the grain. The idea that someone FORCES another to believe something is not Christian for many were converted at the point of a sword. However there might be some form of grain that a buzzard would eat. Perhaps in some laboratory some biologist could come up with a formula of grain that a buzzard would eat similar to dry cat food or dog food today. Hint Hint for evangelism. If the gospel can be put in a form that the person would believe it then maybe everyone could be saved or at least many more. What if in BUZZARD LANGUAGE some one wrote a crop circle that if a buzzard believes there is a field of nutrition here then they would never hunger & be transformed into a buzzard that could metabolize the grain. I Mean is not faith alone the instrument that secures eternal life? Is not grace alone the instrument that keeps it? What about the VISION Peter had in the book of Acts 10: 10-16? Is God telling Peter that it is OK to eat all food? There is some food such as CAT or Buzzard that would turn my stomach! No God was telling Peter that it is OK to evangelize gentiles. Among that list of creeping critters that Peter was to kill & eat might there not be an old turkey buzzard?

    @3:43 Sufficient for ALL? Efficient for SOME? To allege Jesus Christ died for a particular sin for a particular person is PERSONAL ATONEMENT. The real division here is not between LIMITED vs UNLIMITED atonement but rather a PERSONAL vs IMPERSONAL atonement. The ONLY GOSPEL that can change the world is one where THE SINS OF THE WORLD is a CATEGORY of sins not a list of specific person's sins (let "world" ie kosmos mean world [in the negative sense] not a particular RELIGIOUS ORDER (like the rotten way out of context interpretation of different orders of monks in the Roman Catholic Church, {now if it were me I would personally want the Jesuit order one where Christ died not for but unfortunately all means all}) A personal atonement means that Jesus Christ died for specific sins of specific people. What would an IMPERSONAL ATONEMENT LOOK LIKE? This would be God the HAMMARTIOLOGIST looking not @ the specific list of the sins of individual people whether that list be UNIVERSAL or LIMITED is not the issue. One item Calvinists love is that God is GOD CENTERED not man centered. What then if God the Ultimate Hammartiologist examined His word for EVERY CATEGORY of HUMAN sin (excluding the sins of angels, demons & all intelligence which are not human) & simply added all these sins together, multiplied them all by infinity times eternity & made Christ drink it to the dregs suffering the just penalty for that list in His unlimited passion within finite time & space. Christ having risen from the dead is proof of the finished work. To me the only elect person is Jesus Christ. Those that find their way into Him through the gospel are the elect. In many cases God just may BEAM a person into Him without their struggles and searches for something they sense they lack. In other cases God may allow a person to struggle their way through life and find Him. Some people stumble over a treasure & others seek it and find it. As for the Bible it is no respecter of persons. If a Jew or a Gentile elect or non elect picks it up & reads, it communicates the same information. IT THEREFORE is an IMPERSONAL book. The Calvinist says that there is a general call & a specific call. They get this from Luke 14, 16-24. Read the parable. If their interpretation is correct then none of those bidden would get saved. All the handicapped of the world would get saved. & since Jesus is generally referring to the Jews to whom the gospel goes first then ALL GENTILES should be saved because they are ALL the COMPELLED in the highways & byways. Where then in the Bible does it refer to a general call & a specific call? Do we conclude no Jew gets saved? If God calls someone in whatever way then is does not some reality exist to call that one to? In the parable where does it say that the servant calls specific people in the highways & byways or is the selection left to a random choice by the servant? The whole parable is very general indeed.

    I don’t like the name Calvinist. It sounds as if we follow a man. we are Reformed. 1 Corinthians 3:3 Are you not walking in the way of man? 4 For when one of you says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere men? 5 What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? They are servants through whom you believed, as the Lord has assigned to each his role.… The main person in the reformation spend a large part of his life in a small room in the tower of the “Wartburg Castle” heavy guarded by his friends to keep him safe from the inquisition who wanted him to be Burned at the stake. All he could do is write to teach new pastors understanding the gospel. One of the most important was his Bible translation. Calvin was a free man but his health kept him from doing much but writing. You should study history. Before the Reformation there was only the Pope church. [Catholic is the Wrong name] it means “Universal Christian.” The Reformation was not the work of a man it was God’s work to free us from the Heresies of Rome. God used Martin Luther, Calvin, John Knox Ulrich Zwingli and so many more. Whole parishes with their priest turned to the Reformation all independent from each other and expose the Heresies of The pope church The Bible was translated by reformed scholars. William Tyndale. 1494 - c. 6 October 1536) was an English scholar who became a leading figure in the Protestant Reformation in the years leading up to his execution being Burned Alive the most painful death imaginable. He could be set free by just denying his faith. HE IS WELL KNOWN FOR HIS TRANSLATION OF THE BIBLE INTO ENGLISH They never loved their life more than Christ because they could have escaped death just by rejecting their faith in Christ and pray the Rosary. IT WAS A WORK OF THE LORD every one who denies that, enters a slippery slope. Claiming those Millions who died for nothing but a Heresy. The reformation was a blessing for all of Europe and all protestant churches come from the reformation. Millions came to Christ and embraced the Gospel of justification by grace and faith alone. Besides the pope church there only were the Waldensians since 1200 opposing the pope church. Many were persecuted and killed. in 1520 the Waldensians joint the reformation with William Farel who became a close friend of Calvin. No-one of the Reformation usurped authority they just wrote and God Blessed it. The leaders of the reformation at the begin were constant in danger of their life. However we are now on a return to the oldest heresies. The blessings of the reformation are almost over. Most people don’t know the truth anymore. So God set us free from the heresies of the pope. And gave us another heresy.

    wow the first part was so good, this was not very good. He didn't really address why this Reformation resurgence occurred. I thought he was a Calvinist himself. I also disagree that there is debate among Calvinists regarding regeneration preceding faith. As a Calvinist I cant think of any way around the fact that regeneration must precede faith. Dead men can't have faith, God MUST make men alive first.

    • @MariusVanWoerden
      @MariusVanWoerden 5 лет назад

      Rodney Spencer This is what Calvin said about faith & Regeneration <<>> Furthermore, commenting on the ministry of John the baptizer, Calvin states: “By inviting them to repentance, he urged them to acknowledge that they were sinners, and in all respects condemned before God, that thus they might be induced earnestly to seek the mortification of the flesh [sinful nature], and a new birth in the Spirit.”12 Calvin insists that this announcement of the kingdom of God being near is a call “for faith,” since, “by the kingdom of God which he declared to be at hand, he meant forgiveness of sins, salvation, life [new life, eternal life], and every other blessing which we obtain in Christ.”13 In other words, FAITH IN CHRIST BRINGS ABOUT ALL THE BLESSING OF CHRIST, INCLUDING REGENERATION: hence faith precedes regeneration. Calvin argues (emphases added): evangelicalarminians.org/calvin-on-faith-preceding-regeneration/ I Have and read all the works of Arminius and most of Calvin's of course not his commentaries on the whole Bible. Calvin never wrote commentaries on Revelations. Those who think that repentance precedes faith instead of flowing from, or being produced by it, as the fruit by the tree, HAVE NEVER UNDERSTOOD ITS NATURE, AND ARE MOVED TO ADOPT THAT VIEW ON VERY INSUFFICIENT GROUNDS. www.ccel.org/ccel/calvin/institutes.v.iv.html Part 510 Justification is a work of God the Father and the Holy Spirit in us and without us. Justification and faith do not have a sequence in time but in order Faith- Justification but are simultaneously in time. Sanctification is a work of The Holy Spirit in us but not without us. Justification and SANCTIFICATION cannot be separated. There is no sanctification without justification or justification without sanctification, this even when sanctification is just a begin of regeneration through all our life. Faith is by Grace and the free gift of God. The Bible teaches us the Justification of the UNGODLY. [Made/ declared Righteous] Not a believer is justified but the UNGODLY BY FAITH. James 2: 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works [read FRUITS] is dead? Faith First then Fruits of Faith. You can see here that even turning it around since it happened simultaneously is not really a heresy but a misunderstanding. It can be that a person feels that his/her sins are forgiven and being Justified in the site of God and later understand to have put their trust in Christ by faith. However Calvin did not put regeneration before faith. This is the important part: "but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven." it is too bad people are willing to send others in the wrong direction either out of ignorance and unwilling to study or even purposely.

    I am blessed that my church is actively evangelizing our local community, we have many activities that bless the surrounding community. We never forget that those coming to our church first must present the message of Jesus. We ask for each person to become involved, and train them to do this. Our conservative number is 4,500 per weekend, and we still have people accepting Jesus as their personal savior. Ed Stetzer just visited our church this last weekend, and ha gave a great sermon.

    REAL ISSUE Humans and angels have a free will that can do all that it desires, be it a grateful addiction to give all they can give, or an ingrate addiction to take all they can take. That is not the issue, for the real issue is: Be it a positive addiction to be grateful, or a negative addiction to be ungrateful, is the holding power of such addictions impossible to overcome? For it is written: "Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden. Romans 9:18

    No Calvinist disagrees that unregenerate sinners have the ability to reject Christ as he is freely offered in the gospel. Dr. Lemke has done a splendid job proving that point. What we deny is the point he did not speak to--the idea that sinners have the ability, even after being convicted by the Spirit, to respond rightly to the gospel as long as they remain in a state of sinful nature.

      Randall Seiver Regeneration happens after faith.... Jhn 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) All that believed would receive the Spirit after Jesus’ resurrection and ascension.... Jhn 14: 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. Jhn 15: 26 ¶ But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: Jhn 16: 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. The Holy Spirit is first given here.... Jhn 20: 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: So they didn’t receive the Holy Spirit until after the resurrection as Jesus stated in John 7. That’s well after the disciples believed, and many others as well...... Jhn 2: 23 ¶ Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. Luk 7: 50 ¶ And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace. Even after the resurrection, faith still preceded regeneration..... Eph 1: 13 ¶ In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Acts 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. Just to clarify what regeneration is. It is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.... Rom 8: 9 ¶ But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Spiritual life happens after belief..... Jhn 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. The disciples hadn’t received this life before the resurrection of Christ..... Jhn 14:19 ¶ Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. Peter hadn’t yet been converted..... Luk 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. (Matt 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.)

    Dr. Lemke misquoted Matt. 23. Jesus did not say, "How often would I have gathered YOU" but "How often I would have gathered Your Children." Jesus is speaking official condemnation and judgement on official Jerusalem because of their persistent rebellion.

      Randall Seiver God desires all men to be saved.... Deu 5: 29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever! Isa 48: 18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea: 19 Thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me. Jer 2: 9 Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children's children will I plead. Jer 3: 12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever. Jer 26: 3 If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings Jer 36: 3 It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin. Eze 18: 23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? 32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye. Matt 23: 37 ¶ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Acts 17: 27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us. Rom 11: 31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. 32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. 1Tim 2: 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

    Certainly Dr. Lemke is not so ignorant of Calvinistic doctrine that he believes we think "irresistible grace" means sinners never reject the outward call of the gospel. Cerca 51:20 he begins to read several texts that show that sinners who are called have rejected the call. Not only do Calvinists believe unregenerate sinners Can reject the outward call of the gospel, we believe they ALWAYS RESIST that call while in a state of unregeneracy (See Acts 7:51). Additionally, he seemed to want to make a point of the fact that Stephen was speaking to members of ELECT Israel. Certainly, he knows what Israel was not ELECT in the same sense that believers in Christ have been elected to spiritual and eternal blessings.

    Mr. York, was inaccurate and speaking contrary to Calvinistic doctrine when he stated that regeneration is conditioned on repentance and faith. Certainly, regeneration does not usually occur apart from the preaching of the gospel, but God does not wait until sinners repent and believe before he regenerates them. The BF&M on regeneration states, "It is a change of heart wrought by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ." If the sinner RESPONDS to regeration in repentance and faith, then regeneration cannot be the result of repentance and faith.

    No true Calvinist denies that sinners are responsible to believe and repent. To suggest otherwise shows a complete lack of understanding of Calvinistic teaching. Dr. Lemke should have known better.

      Randall...Repent means to change your mind...a Calvinist claims that God does that for you. God command all men everywhere to repent. A command is asked of us, not done for us. John 17:9 I pray for THEM: I pray not for the world, but for them thou gavest me. (Gavest is used in the past tense) John 17:20, 21 Neither pray I for these ALONE, but for them ALSO, who shall believe on me through their word..... That the WORLD may know that thou hast sent me. The men that God gave Jesus are the remnant that obtained mercy according to Grace in that PRESENT time. Those men that God gave Jesus are the result of God answering Jesus' prayer spoken of in... Matthew 9:37,38 The harvest truly is plenteous but the labourers are few, pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into the harvest. Jesus spoke his word to THOSE men that God gave him from out of the world and he sent THEM into the world to preach the Gospel to.....THOSE who WERE to BELIEVE. There is a vast difference between those that God gave to Jesus and those who were to believe. You can't be both one from verse 9...I pray for THEM....and one from verse 20 but for them, ALSO. Another example is: John 6:39 And this is the Fathers will that hast sent me, which all that he hath given me, I should lose nothing, but should raise it up the last day = the elect (he did lose one, Judas) (given is used in the past tense. John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one that seeth the Son and believeth on him may have everlasting life; and I shall raise him up on the last day = those who were to believe what the elect were sent out to preach. You can't be both. Also, John 17 is spoken of in the present tense and he is speaking of men that he was WITH in the world. Peace.

      Stacey, No, that is not what Calvinists claim. If you read reputable Calvinists and understand what we are saying, you will know that we believe faith and repentance are the sinner's responsibility. And, of course, Jesus is praying for those who had come to faith in him but he was not praying for them alone. If you will consider the tenses in John 6:37 you will understand that "is giving to me" [a present tense] preceeds "shall come to me" [a future tense]. I don't think I know of a case where the future preceeds the present. If John 17 were the only chapter in the Bible, one might argue that "those who shall believe on me through their word" does not have any reference to his elect people, but this is not the case. Additionally, in John 10:16 Jesus spoke about "HAVING" his sheep who had not yet come to him. "Other sheep I HAVE who are not of this fold. Them also I must bring, and THEY SHALL HEAR MY VOICE. Notice that he had them [us--Gentile believers] prior to our hearing his effectual voice. A few verses later, he said to the unbelieving Jews, "You do not believe BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT OF MY SHEEP." People don't believe to become his sheep but because they are his sheep.

      Stacy, Also, surely you are able to distinguish between a change of mind and God's work in the hearts and dispositions of sinners that causes such a change of mind. Regeneration is God's work; the faith and repentance of the sinner that results from it is 100% the sinner's. It is not God who believes and it is not God who repents. I would strongly recommend that you read John Murray's "Redemption Accomplished and Applied" and interact with it. Also, perhaps you would like to read a book I have written titled, "Authentic Evangelism and Its Counterfeit." It is available at "www.amazon.com/author/randyseiver. I have written about many of these issues in the last part of the book that deals with the theological foundation for evangelism.

      Did God regenerate the multitudes of people who came to Jesus to heal them before they left their houses? Did God regenerate the heart of the woman sinner who came with oil? Did God regenerate the sick man at the pool of water that Jesus went up to andASKED him if he WANTED to be made whole.? Did God regenerate the heart of the Roman Centurion who sent men to find Jesus to get him to come and heal his sick Centurion servant/ "Verily I say unto you, I have not FOUND such great faith, no, not in Israel". Is Faith what God seeketh for but did not obtain from Israel? Did God not find faith in Israel, so he decided to gather a remnant according to election of grace and then blinded the rest? Then through their fall did he offer salvation unto the Gentiles through the Faith that he seeketh for?

      Stacey, I don't know if you have had any instruction in hermeneutics, but one of the basic principles of interpretation is that one must not seek to draw theological doctrine from historical passages but from didactic passages where a particular doctrine is being expounded specifically. Anytime a person has sufficient faith to love and seek to please God, it must be because God has operated in his or her heart. Faith does not sprout or grow in the soil of sinful and rebellious nature. God does not find faith in anyone in whose heart he has not sovereignly operated. If you want to understand this subject accurately, consider the many metaphors the biblical writers used for regeneration such as heart transplant, birth from above, creation, resurrection, circumcision, giving of sight, deliverance from bondage, baptism etc. and ask youself in which of these the person who is regenerated initiates the action and which of them he or she is acted on. Dead people don't simply decide to make themselves alive. If you wish to argue that "death" means no more than separation or a ruptured relationship, you might want to ask yourself why a ruptured relationship requires resurrection. And repentance and faith are clearly what God sought for both from Israel and from the Gentiles. It is the fact that he did not find such faith in either that his sovereign salvific activity is necessary.

    At 25:49 the speaker completely misses the point. The issue is not whether pardon is conditioned on repentance and faith but whether God's choice of some to eternal life was conditioned on foreseen repentance and faith.

    Did the people who attended this conference go by their own free will or were they made willing?
